Welcome to the official Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) web site. The Irish Republican Brotherhood was founded in 1858. It is the oldest political movement in Ireland. Since its foundation in 1858, the Irish Republican Brotherhood has worked to attain national independence and national sovereignty and democracy for a 32 county Ireland as expressed, declared and ratified by Dáil Éireann (Irish parliament) in 1919. Many members of this Dail Eireann (Irish parliament) were also IRB members in 1919. And all the leaders and many of the people involved in the 1916 Rising were members of the IRB. Most of the leaders and officers of the Irish army in the War of Independence 1916 - 23 were IRB men.

The IRB is not Billy McGuire's IRB and we do not claim to be the government of Ireland. We are completely separate to Billy McGuire's IRB. The IRB is a peaceful and charitable organisation, an Irish cultural, historical and charitable society, which promotes Irish culture, history and identity. The IRB supports the Good Friday Agreement (1998) and Peace Process as a peaceful and democratic means to achieve a 32 county United Ireland and 32 county Dail Eireann. The IRB supports the democratically elected Dail Eireann and TD's in Dail Eireann in Dublin. The IRB actively promotes and protects Irish culture, Irish identity, Irish language, Irish music, Irish traditions, Irish industry, Irish agriculture, Irish nationalism, democratic freedoms, and national sovereignty AND is exposing and trying to end corruption and injustices in politics, the legal system, the police, the banks, the health service and state bodies and build a better and fairer Ireland for all Irish people. The IRB's activities are of an educational and charitable nature, designed to educate people about Ireland and Irish culture. To build a new national Irish consciousness, a new sense of Irish pride, comaraderie and belonging. For centuries many peoples and races worldwide struggled for national independence and sovereignty. Today this battle involves Nationalism against Globalism and Federalism which is the New Imperialism, the new colonialism.

The Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) was founded by James Stephens in Dublin city, Ireland on 17th March, St. Patricks Day, in 1858. It was in the house of Peter Langan, a lathe-maker and timber merchant, at 16 Lombard street, Dublin that the Irish Republican Brotherhood was founded. Present at that fateful meeting were James Stephens, Thomas Clarke Luby, Joseph Denieffe, Garret O’Shaughnessy and Peter Langan. The aims or objectives of the IRB were
(i) to achieve freedom for Ireland from Britain. And establish a free and independent Irish Republic consisting of 32 countries, the whole island of Ireland.
(ii) to set up a democracy and an Irish parliament elected by the people of Ireland. National sovereignty and self determination. Promote the development and welfare of the Irish people and nation.
(iii) oppose empires and colonialism, including the British empire. Today this means opposing Globalism, which is the new imperialism. Globalism is invovled in a war against nationalism, national sovereignty and democracy worldwide today.

It is the semi-biographical sketch of James Stephens, with the story of his arrest and imprisonment; and also his escape from the British authorities. Irish Republicans trace their political origins back to the Irish patriot Wolfe Tone and the United Irishmen of the 1790’s. Inspired by the French Revolution and American revolution, their aim was to break the subjugation of Ireland by Britain. And establish a free and independent Irish republic with its own parliament, its own laws and its own language. They asserted that only an independent Irish Republic could guarantee freedom, equality and prosperity for the Irish people. Most of the leaders of the United Irishmen were presbyterians and protestants and catholics, and non religions including deists, atheists, and dissenters, all working together for a Free and Independent Ireland. Their aim was to achieve unity between Irish people of all religions in the cause of national freedom. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, national freedom and sovereignty, a democratic parliament accountable to the people, freedom of assembly, and other democratic freedoms being the cornerstone of this Republicanism. And to return stolen lands and resources back to the Irish people not give them to foreigners or let foreigners who stole them continue to own them. Wolfe Tone and the United Irishmen carried out a rebellion in 1798 against British rule. This rebellion was ruthlessly suppressed by the British. Ireland's demand for national freedom and national sovereignty was similar to the demands of Americans for freedom in 1776, and the demands of South American countries for national freedom in the early 1800's, the demands of Poles, Czechs, Hungarians, Bulgarians, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Romanians, Serbs, Croats, Indians, Pakistanis, Indonesians, Malaysians, Arabs for national freedom in the 20th century, and the demands of African peoples for national freedom in the mid to late 20th century. This involved challenging, fighting, overturning and dismantling empires, imperialism and colonial rule for over 100 years in many countries around the world. This has delivered national freedom, sovereignty and democracy to many countries worldwide. A global ideal which Thomas Jefferson (USA) and Abraham Lincoln predicted for Democracy shortly before their deaths in the 1800's.

This Irish republican movement and republican consciousness continued from 1798 to the present day and is detailed in the History section of this web site. A twin organisation of the IRB - the Fenian Brotherhood also known as the Fenians was set up in 1858 in New York, USA by John O' Mahony and Michael Doheny. Both John O' Mahony and Michael Doheny were close friends of James Stephens (the founder of the IRB) and they all had served in the Young Ireland rising in 1848. The name "Fenian" came from the word "Fianna" who were the warriors of ancient Ireland, over 2,000 years ago. There was a constant exchange of personnel between these twin organisations in Ireland and the USA, as many people emigrated to the USA and some returned home to Ireland for missions or meetings or military actions. The Fenians were IRB men and vice versa ; the terms were interchangeable. Clan na Gael was also formed in New York in the USA in 1867 and also became a twin organisation of the IRB in Ireland, and maintained close links with the IRB. The Fenian Brotherhood dissolved and disbanded in 1880 in the USA and most of their members joined Clan na nGael. Clan na Gael grew strongly in the 1800's and early 1900's as millions of Irish emigrants were forced out of Ireland by oppression, corruption, injustices, poverty and starvation and settled in the USA. Clan na nGael raised considerable sums of money for "the cause" in the USA and sent money, weapons, materials and personnel over to Ireland to assist in the work of the IRB and the Fenians in Ireland.

Great Achievements of the IRB

The IRB and it's members played a major role in:

• the Fenian Rising of 1867 and Campaigns of the 1880's in Britain
  
• the 1916 Rising in Ireland and the Proclaimation of Irish Independence was planned, created and led by IRB men
• the Irish War of Independence from 1919 - 1923 was led by IRB men all around Ireland
  
• IRB members set up the Land League in 1879 to fight for the rights of Irish farmers, tenants and labourers. The IRB played a role in the Land War in Ireland of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Michael Davitt, the great leader of the Land League was also a secret member of the IRB. This eventually won rights for tenant farmers, land redistribution, loans for land purchases by tenants, housing for farmers and labourers, and important rights for small Irish farmers.
  
• IRB members were involved in the setting up of the Home Rule League in the 1800's.
• The IRB supported Parnell and the Irish Parliamentary party and it's struggle for Irish Independence which was opposed by Benjamin Disraeli, a corrupt, prejudiced and unscrupulous politician, and other corrupt politicians in Britain. Parnell was believed to be a secret member of the IRB.
• John O'Connor Power who was leader of the IRB from 1882 to 1891 was a member of the Irish Parliamentary party and an elected MP and he worked with Parnell to try and achieve home rule for Ireland. He also worked with the Land league.
• Peadar Kearney, the author of the Irish national anthemn 'Amhran na BhFiann' (the Soldiers Song) was a member of the IRB and he also participated in the 1916 Rising. He is also the author of the famous song 'The Bold Fenian Men'.
  
  
  
  
• The American Civil War of the 1860's and the ending of Slavery there. Tens of thousands of Fenian and IRB men served as officers and nco's and ordinary soldiers in the Union army and fought in many battles in the USA. Whole Fenian Circles and Divisions joined many regiments in the Union army. Over 200,000 Irish and Irish-American men joined the Union army during the civil war.
  
  General Michael Corcoran of the fighting 69th Regiment was a Fenian. This regiment fought in many batles in the civil war and distinguished itself. General Corcoran set up the Corcoran legion which consisted of many new regiments, mostly consisting of Irish and Irish-Americans. He was given command of the 1st Division, VII Corps which won a few battles . In late 1863 he was placed in command of a division in the XXII Corps and returned to serve in the Washington defenses. The 69th regiment was part of the Irish Brigade in the Union army, which had a few regiments mostly Irish. General Thomas Meagher another Irish man and IRB man, and also a Young Irelander, led the Irish Brigade, which distinguished itself in many battles in the Civil War, including the battle of Fredricksburg in Virgina where it suffered heavy losses. The Brigade was founded and led by Fenians and IRB men of all ranks. The fighting 69th Regiment and Irish Brigade and Corcoran Legion in the Union army distinguished themselves in the battles of Bull Run, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. In fact the Irish Brigade suffered the worst losses of any brigade in the Civil War. Thousands of Irish men died in the American civil war. The Irish were awarded 146 Medals of Honor during the Civil War, and President Lincoln himself kissed the Irish flag and said, “God Bless the Irish" after the battle of Malvern Hill.
  

  President John F Kennedy praised the Irish Brigade, the 69th Regiment and all the IRB men and Fenians who were in that regiment and fought in the Union army in the American Civil war in the 1860's. And he praised the Irish who fought in the American War of Independence in the 1700's in his address to the Irish Parliament in June 1963.

  
  

• The 69th regiment survived the American Civil war and the cutbacks by the US government after the war to serve in world war 1 and world war 2.
• The Catalpa rescue masterminded by John Devoy, of the IRB and Fenians. This involved the rescue of Fenians in a penal colony in Australia and bringing them by ship to the USA as free men.
  
• Thomas Meagher a Young Irelander and Fenian invented the Irish tricolour flag, the national flag of Ireland
  
• the setting up of the Gaelic League and the revival of the Irish language and the promotion of Irish language literature from the late 1800's to the present day. Several IRB men played leading roles in Gaelic League activites around Ireland.
  
• the setting up of the GAA in the 1880's and its spread throughout Ireland and to other countries. Michael Cusack one of the founders of the GAA was an IRB man. The GAA promotes hurling, gaelic football and handball.
  
• the famous hurling and gaelic football trophies - the McCarthy cup and the Sam Maguire cup were named after IRB men, Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire. They were both involved in IRB activities and Maguire recruited the famous Michael Collins into the IRB in London, England.
• the Irish Literary revival which included William Butler Yeats, Shaw, Joyce, Synge, Gregory, McDonagh, O'Casey, Beckett and others. William Butler Yeats was a member of the IRB.
• the growth of Sinn Fein in the early 1900's and its victory in the 1918 election
  
• assisting Irish workers in their struggle for fair wages and conditions in the early 1900's
  
• the invention of the first submarine by IRB man John Philip Holland for use by the IRB and Fenians. He later developed the first submarines for the United States Navy
• the Fenian raids from the USA into Canada in the late 1860's and 1870's
• the political struggle for Australian Independence from Britain
  
• assisting the Boers in the Boer war for Independence from Britain.
• the setting up of the Irish Volunteers in 1913 to fight for Irish Independence and the importation of arms
• the setting up of the first Dail (Irish Parliament) of Ireland in January 1919. All members were elected by the Irish people in the 1918 election. Most elected members of the Dail were members of the IRB.
  
• the Declaration of Irish Independence in the first Dail on January 21, 1919.
• the Irish Constitution of 1919 and the Democratic Program of the first Dail in 1919
• the first President of Ireland, Eamon De Valera and a later President Sean T. O'Kelly were members of the IRB, and Michael Collins, a Minister in the early governments of Ireland and IRA leader and many other revolutionary leaders of Ireland were members of the IRB
• New Political Freedom movement

This is well documented by historians, academic researchers, the national archives and historical evidence. The IRB has played an important part in reviving and protecting Irish culture, its language, music, dancing, poetry, literature, gaelic games, spirituality, celtic origins, history and traditions from its foundation in 1858 up to the present day.These achievements and successes of the IRB were achieved by hard work, determination, high levels of motivation, comradeship, teamwork and cooperation, total commitment, total loyalty, duty, integrity and actions. These IRB men and Fenians were equivalent to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin and others of the Continental Congress and Army who fought for American Independence in the 1700's.

Today, Imperialism and Colonialism has not gone away or disappeared. It has taken on a new form. Globalism and Federalism have become the new Imperialism, and a significant threat to nationalism, sovereignty, national culture, democracy and national freedoms worldwide. And also a significant threat to businesses, farms, families and the working class. One sees the destructive effects of Globalism around the world, primarily against native peoples and native cultures. This is a recurring theme in Ireland in many other countries around the world at present.

Today the IRB is an open organisation, not a secret organisation. It is open to males and females who are 18 years old or older who are of Irish descent in Ireland and other countries. You can join today and follow in the footsteps of many other famous Irish people who were in the IRB in the past.

The Irish Republican Brotherhood has always been a democratic organisation since 1858, and it's leaders have been democratically elected by it's members at AGM's or Supreme Council meetings. Today the IRB is a democratic organisation, with a national leader, the President. The IRB supports political democracy and supports democratic and peaceful means for achieving it's objectives. We believe in the power of the ordinary people.
The IRB is not a secret organisation, it is an open organisation, which is open to males and females who are 18 years old or older who are of Irish descent.

The IRB has a Supreme Council with representatives from all over Ireland and Mr. Tom Ryan is the current president of the IRB and was elected by the members. The IRB has always been a democratic orgnaisation since 1858 and presidents and supreme council members are elected by the members. The IRB is committed to democracy, freedom, nationalism and national sovereignty.

IRB Principles : The IRB is opposed to Globalism which is the New Imperialism / Colonialism

The IRB today still works to promote and protect Irish culture, Irish nationalism, democratic freedoms, and national sovereignty and to build a better Ireland for all Irish people. Our democratic principles and our Constitution are defined by our long held beliefs (since 1858). We believe:

• in political democracy and in democratic freedoms
• in national sovereignty and the sovereignty of national parliaments and the accountability of such to the sovereign people of the nation. As stated in the Irish Constitution of 1937 and in the first Dail Eireann of 1919 - 21. These are the basic principles of Democracy. We oppose foreign federalist structures which undermine, over-rule and destroy this. Not in EU Federalist (or German) domination of Ireland. We already had 700 years of foreign domination in Ireland.
• in a 32 county United Ireland by democratic and peaceful means and a 32 County Dail Eireann (Irish Parliament). We support the Good Friday Agreement.
• since 1992, Ireland has lost it's national sovereignty. The Irish government (representing the sovereign Irish people) have lost control of their own currency, their fiscal policies, their monetary policies, their government policies, their state investment policies, their housing, healthcare and education expenditure policies and capabilities, the creation of new money in Ireland, the Irish banking system, their government borrowings system (now rely on international bondholders and ECB), their bail out capabilities for resolving financial crashes, economic crashes, pandemics and other crises, the Irish fisheries area, their farming policies, loss of the jurisdiction of the Irish courts and Irish Constitution, the national border, their immigration policies, Irish neutrality, Ireland's foreign affairs policies, and Irish trade policies (which is greatly affected by Brexit). The Irish Government have lost most of their powers. They are no longer a government ; Ireland has been reduced down to a vassal state of the federalist European Union. And there are ongoing efforts by the EU to take over all Irish taxation policies. This loss of national sovereignty is serious.
• prior to the Maastricht treaty of 1992, we had a Europe of independent and sovereign nations cooperating together in harmony. After the Maastricht treaty was fully implemented we had a federalist Europe which is becoming more and more federalised over time and destroying the national sovereignty of nations and peoples (and destroying democratic rights). This is a widely acknowledged fact and is often referred to as "the democratic deficit in Europe". This democratic deficit has been condemned by most EU supporters and many would like to see an end to federalism and a reversal of federalism in the EU. Either federalism ends and is reversed or the EU risks splitting and falling apart.
• we need to restore this pre-1992 national sovereignty in the interests of nation states and democracy, and democratic freedoms AND in the interests of European peace, economic prosperity, cooperation and social stability (inside nations). We demand the restoration of our own national Irish currency and control over our money supply (not the euro), the Dail (Irish parliament) having full fiscal and monetary control in Ireland not the EU and ECB, the Dail controlling our own borders and immigration policy, Irish control of our own fishing waters, compensating the Irish people and taxpayers for the EU instigated speculation and money printing mania which led to the crash of 2008 and bankrupted Ireland and forced Ireland to bail out 42% of the EU banking system and bondholders, this compensation being 100 billion euros to cover the direct and indirect costs of the bank bail out and austerity. The Irish Constitution being the supreme authority in Ireland not the EU, regular referendums to let the people decide on important strategic government policies and legal proposals, and full accountability and transparency in the Irish government.
• many nations in Europe spent hundreds of years fighting for their national freedom and national sovereignty. Today, these same nations have surrendered their national sovereignty and national freedom and democracy to an EU federalist state and to federalism. This represents return to the imperialism (and colonialism) of the past.
• in supporting the Good Friday Agreement and Peace Process and in holding a Referendum to decide the status of the 6 counties in the north. We support a Referendum to unite the 6 counties with the 26 counties to form a United Ireland.
• in opposing Communism and Fascism and Globalism which is attacking the national sovereignty and democratic freedoms of nations. Globalism uses federalism and interference in nation states as a means to break down, undermine, dissolve, and dilute nation states and national sovereignty and democratic rights.
• in opposing Cultural Marxism which is attacking and destroying national cultures, national identity, the family, the community and community spirit, law and order, and social cohesion and stability.
• in protecting and preserving our national Irish culture and identity, not globalism and foreign and multicultural domination of Ireland. The great Irish singer Luke Kelly summed this up.

  
  

• ending debt slavery. Cancelling and removing most of the national debt which was money created out of nothing by commercial banks and central banks. And cancelling most private debt which has enslaved and robbed the Irish people and nation.
• that the Democratic Program of the First Dail is fully implemented including democratic capitalism or economic democracy which is fair, inclusive and serves the 99% of people not just the richest 1%, and realises the economic and social objectives of the First Dail of 1919 and the1916 Proclamation and which includes an end to Debt Slavery and accompanying money creation frauds which have enslaved peoples and nations worldwide. This includes the cancellation of most private debt and state debt which was money created out of nothing and backed by nothing, and most of it used for speculation and price rigging and also to bail out speculators, banks and price riggers, and impose debt slavery on nations and peoples. Democracies are fundamentally opposed to slavery including this type of slavery. The creation of a totally new public banking system and currency system to support businesses, farms, innovation in the business sector, employee share ownership and cooperatives, affordable housing, education, energy independence, full employment and strategic state investment not debt slavery and speculation, price rigging, and bank frauds, and more bail outs for them. This will enable all Irish people to reach their true potential in life and to participate fully in the economic and social life of the Irish nation.
• in ending the homeless problem, housing shortages, hospitals and HSE waiting lists and disaster, and other problems caused by the corrupt and incompetent politicians and government and their Globalist masters.
  
• in religious freedom and tolerance for all
  
• in worker's rights and in women's rights
• in equal rights for Irish Travellers and full economic inclusion and social inclusion for them, and mutual respect.
• we do not support class war. We believe in the integrity, dignity and respect for all Irish people.
• in exposing all forms of corruption in the legal system, the police, the prosecutor's office, the judges, HSE, Tusla, the banks, the NGO's and in politics
• in helping to implement and enforce full accountability for all politicians, judges, police, prosecutor personnel, HSE and Tusla personnel, state employees and banks. And the ending of corruption. This will involve prosecutions and jailings in courts or tribunals, the firing of certain people from state jobs, the closure of certain agencies and bodies, new laws and amendments to the Irish Constitution, and civil cases for damages.
• in justice under law for all. And the legal system and government being held accountable to the sovereign people
• in ending the gang warfare, anti social behaviour and violent attacks on innocent people, and the accompanying corruption of the legal system which is covering this up, depriving people of justice under law and destroying Irish society
• in teaching the youth respect, responsibility, duty, total loyalty, honor, determination, integrity and service to their local community and to the Irish nation
• supporting the spiritual, ethical and moral development of the Irish people and nation
• in supporting local communities in Ireland
• support for new anti Globalist ideas for combining artificial intelligence (A.I.) and automated technologies and new technological innovations and discoveries and massive increases in productivity with new debt free finance, new public banking structures, credit and tax incentives to educate, train and retrain, employ, provide widespread employee shareholdings and community shareholdings, cooperatives in industry and agriculture, and enrich and develop all of the population of a country, and provide full employment, not serve the richest 1% or the Globalists.  And replace ghettos and crime, racist and terrorist ridden areas with fully employed, prosperous, busy, law abiding and community spirited areas which make positive contributions to the economy and society

Nationalism VS Globalism which is the New Imperialism / Colonialism

For hundreds of years Ireland and the Irish struggled against Imperialism. Globalism is a continuation of imperialism and its colonialism of the past. Globalists have always dreamed of global dominance. Examples of Globalists were Empires of the British, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Ottoman, Mongolian, Romans, Greeks, Persians of the past, the German nazi empire, the Soviet Union and its empire, etc. Wealthy elites imposed and benefitted from these empires - enforcing this imperialist or globalist system on nations and peoples for many centuries.

Globalism is the new Imperialism. It is also a form of colonialism or neo colonialism. Globalism has the same desire for empire and global domination as previous empires in history. Globalists are large mulitnational corporations, hedge funds, private equity firms, vulture funds and banks who dominate countries and governments worldwide. They enjoy monopoly and cartel status, and rig markets on a national level and global level and prevent the free market from expressing itself. Research shows a vast network of cross shareholdings between the largest central and commercial banks and mega corporations and big hedge funds and private equity firms, press and media giants, and Internet giants. The 1916 Proclamation one of the founding documents of the Irish state stated:

They did not declare Ireland to be a vassal state or servant state of the European Union and the WHO and Globalists and controlled by them. They did not state that Ireland was to be owned and controlled by foreigners and have a foreign culture imposed upon Ireland. Q. Is the IRB an oath bound secret organisation?
A. No as the existence of this website testifies. It was so in the 19th and early 20th century when discovery of membership could have resulted in long imprisonment, including penal servitude or the death penalty.

Q. Was the IRB disbanded in 1924?
A. No. The historical records and evidence from the 1920's clearly show that the IRB split into pro Treaty IRB and anti Treaty IRB and into decentralised units of the IRB during the Civil War. They split along pro treaty and anti treaty lines during the Civil War. Liam Lynch led the anti treaty IRB and Michael Collins led the pro treaty IRB. Attempts were made by Michael Collins, Tom Barry and Florrie Donohoe to unite and heal the pro Treaty and anti Treaty IRB during the civil war, but they failed. In fact, Michael Collins attempted to do this in Cork in August 1922 but was shot dead by an assassin, whom many historians and people believe to be Emmet Dalton, a highly decorated ex British soldier.

The IRB did not dissolve and continued to exist in decentralised circles, units and groups after the Civil War, and has continued in existence up to the present day. The anti treaty IRB's stance pushed it underground in the new 26 county monarchical free state which emerged after the Irish civil war. The Irish national army mutiny of 1924 and its aftermath exposed the lingering divisions in the pro Treaty IRB and within the new Irish government. A few members of the pro Treaty IRB decided to disband their Dublin circle in Dublin in 1924, but they were already expelled from the IRB and they were not recognised by the anti Treaty IRB. They were not elected members of the Supreme Council and did not have the backing of all IRB centres and members around Ireland. This has been misinterpreted as a national disbanding of IRB. Disbandment of the IRB could only happen with a general convention of the Supreme Council and County Centres of Ireland and a majority vote to disband the IRB under Clause 35 of the IRB Constitution of 1920. This never happened in 1924 or at any time after that.

And the anti Treaty IRB and military wing were also very divided over the future of the IRB. Disillusionment at the loss of the Civil War divided the anti Treaty IRB. Most wished to continue as decentralised IRB circles. Most anti Treaty IRB circles continued in existence for many years and decades after 1924. No formal decision was made to dissolve the anti Treaty IRB by the Supreme Council and a general meeting of the county centres of the IRB, and no records or evidence of such a dissolution were ever produced.

Those who claimed to have disbanded the pro Treaty IRB Dublin circle in 1924 had violated the IRB oath and Constitution and the Supreme Council decision to reject the Treaty on December 3rd 1921, by ratifying the Treaty (December 12th 1921) they were expelled from the IRB. Despite their claims, they were no longer considered IRB members and could not disband an organisation they were not members of. The anti Treaty IRB continued to exist around Ireland and did not recognise the pro Treaty IRB.

The important point here is that the IRB could not be disbanded by its president or it’s Supreme Council under the IRB Constitution of 1920. Disbandment of the IRB could only happen with a general convention of the Supreme Council and County Centres of Ireland and a majority vote to disband the IRB under Clause 35 of the IRB Constitution of 1920. This never happened in 1924 or any time after that. No formal decision was made to dissolve the IRB by the Supreme Council and a general meeting of the county centres of the IRB, and no records or evidence of such a dissolution were ever produced. Leon Ó Broin in his book Revolutionary Underground:The story of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, 1858-1924 stated that no decision was made to dissolve and disband the IRB according to its Constitution and rules and no evidence of such a dissolution has been produced.

The anti Treaty IRB remained very active and decentralised. These decentralised IRB units continued to exist into the 1930's and 1940's influencing Irish politics and the struggle for full independence up to the present day. IRB members continued their IRB activities by joining or setting up new political parties, new cumanns, new political movements, new social movements and organisations, some went to Spain to fight in the Spanish Civil War, new Gaelic cultural organisations, and new anti treaty organisations with a view to violently achieving a united 32 county Ireland in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. The IRB continued to work quietly in the background in Ireland and the USA as a decentralised structure, with decentralised IRB circles, centres, boards and ordinary members meeting regularly and laying wreaths at commemorative occasions, and influencing politics and republican movements to achieve a 32 county United Irish Republic in the years and decades after the civil war. There were local leaders of Decentralised IRB circles, units and groups in Ireland and USA. No national leader of IRB from 1923 to Present. Local IRB Leaders in Tipperary, Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway and Limerick.

Q. So what became of the IRB following the Civil War?
A. The IRB officially took no sides in the Civil War. The IRB split into pro Treaty IRB and anti Treaty IRB. Many more by their acceptance of the Treaty which violated their IRB oath and Constitution were expelled. Any claims by those who accepted the treaty such as Richard Mulcahy and his Free State followers were no longer valid as they were not IRB members and despite their claims otherwise they were in no position to disband the IRB in 1924. No formal decision was made to dissolve the IRB by the Supreme Council and by a general meeting of the county centres and ordinary members of the IRB, and no records or evidence of such a dissolution were ever produced. The IRB split into pro Treaty IRB and anti Treaty IRB and became highly decentralised and went underground and awaited a time of national crisis such as those we are living in now when the needs for its existence and its aims have become greater than ever before.

Q. Does the IRB today advocate military revolution?
A. No. The IRB today is strictly a non violent nationalist and republican organisation. While its aims remain those of its founders and the re-establishment of the aims of the 1916 Proclamation and the Irish Republic as ratified in Dáil Éireann on January 21st 1919, peaceful means are our sole methods today. The IRB supports the Good Friday Agreement of 1998 and the Peace Process and efforts to hold a Referendum to decide the future of the 6 counties of Northern Ireland. The IRB supports democracy and democratic solutions including elections, referendums, honest and accountable courts and tribunals.

Q. What is the IRB’s primary aim today?
A. The reunification of Ireland in a peaceful, democratic, and acceptable manner and the promotion of Irish culture, identity and traditions and the riddance of the corruption and abuse of people’s rights by the political and legal establishments north and south. And the protection of Irish nationalism, culture and identity against the forces of Globalism which is the New Imperialism / Colonialism.

Q. Won't reunification alienate and cause conflict with the Unionist people of Northern Ireland?
A. The Good Friday Agreement of 1998 makes provision for a Referendum in Northern Ireland to decide if the 6 counties can join with the 26 counties to form a 32 county Irish Republic. This has been agreed by British Unionists and Irish Nationalists in Northern Ireland and also agreed by the Irish and British governments. This is one solution we fully support.

Q. What is the ‘Supreme Council of the IRB’ and what is its role?
A. The ‘Supreme Council’ is the executive of the IRB. Its role is to foster and further promote the aims of the IRB

• the farmer who is getting less than they were thirty years ago for his or her beef and other food produced by their toil, while Globalists agri-producers make massive profits. Farming families being driven off the land.
• the removal of many public services and essential services from rural Ireland, and the flight of the youth from rural Ireland. And recently a disproportionate number of people from a foreign and an alien culture have been dumped into rural Ireland, and now the elderly in rural Ireland are left living in isolation, fear and terror.
• the many thousands of bright educated Irish people forced to emigrate while their parents are left behind in loneliness, despair, and desolation. Parents who saved and sacrificed to educate their young and now they cannot be near them, and many never get to know their own grandchildren.
• the sad plight of elderly in nursing homes who have been abused for years and also neglected and left to die during the covid19 pandemic. And the anguish of their families and close friends.
• the anguish of many families whose mother, father or child has died long before their time and all too often because a totally dysfunctional health service, which killed them by failing to treat them in time, neglected them and deprived them of their life and deprived their family of their dearly loved one.
• the thousands of Irish people who are wrongfully discriminated against in employment in Ireland and suffer terribly as a result
• the many thousands of people and families trapped in addictions while the health service and government neglect them, ignore them and fob them off
• the sense of betrayal, the sense of frustration, disempowerment and rage of many men or women standing before a corrupt judge in court who is about to take their child, their parent, their partner, their home or their livelihood and they will not even be allowed to speak, state their case or defend their position.
• the many towns and city neighbourhoods and communities who are plagued by drugs, murder, rapes, anti social behaviour and mayhem from native Irish gangsters and marauding foreign gangs terrorising them to despair while the forces of law and order won’t investigate them properly, bring the cases to court and jail the guilty. They won't even answer urgent calls or log their complaints so they can manipulate crime figures and claim they are under control or down.
  

The IRB is uniting and unifying these people and groups with a view to them all working together, cooperating together, coordinating together to implement new political actions, legal actions and social actions to address these problems and to build a better and fairer Ireland for all Irish people.

Irish Independence Day - January 21st

Ireland has an Independence Day like most other countries. Dail Eireann declared Irish Independence on January 21st. 1919. And this date is Irish Independence day. It is celebrated by many Irish people, including the IRB. On Irish Independence day, speeches are made and wreaths are laid by IRB members. However the present Irish government has refused to make January 21st an official national holiday. The IRB and other organisations and individuals have been lobbying the government to make it an official national holiday similar to the 4th of July holiday in the USA.

How Well is Ireland Doing ?

The following information should be used prior to and during all elections

• Ireland has a small population of 4.7 million people, so the following high figures need to be factored for a small population.
• We are 250 billion in debt. (CSO Ireland). We had 30 billion debt in 2008. The interest on the debt amounts to 7 billion euros per year. This total debt amounts to 47,000 euros for every man, woman and child in Ireland. This is called “debt slavery”. This enslaves you, your family, your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren. This explains the high taxes, the cutbacks in hospitals, schools, social housing, affordable housing, disability services, the homeless crisis, public transport crisis, the traffic gridlock every morning and evening, the hospital waiting lists and thousands of people forced to wait days in busy corridors on trolleys in hospitals, the farming and rural crisis, the military wages crisis, the cuts to garda resources at a time when crimes including gang crime are very high etc.
• We have 30,000 mortgages in 5 years arrears. We have had 100,000 mortgages restructured over the last ten years.
• We have 15,000 people homeless and 3,800 of these are children. Over 12,000 Irish children have experienced homelessness between 2014 and 2022. Pictures of small children eating meals on the cold streets of Dublin were on the press and media. We have the worst homeless crisis since the 1930’s.
• We have 120,000 people on the social housing list because of the refusal to build social housing after the 2008 crash. The government was bankrupted by the extra private debt added on to the government debt to fund bail outs of bankers, developers and speculators after the 2008 crash.
• 400,000 people on hospital waiting lists, and thousands of people forced to wait days on trolleys in busy corridors in hospitals as a result of health service cutbacks (caused by massive national debt)
• We have let in 50,000 Ukrainian refugees into Ireland in 2022 and let in 100,000 asylum seekers and economic migrants from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and other parts of the world since 2015 and we cannot afford to house them. Many are in hostels, tents, hotels etc. or homeless or in in temporary accomodation.
• Ireland is one of the most highly taxed countries in Europe when one includes direct taxes on wages, salaries and profits and indirect taxes in the form of VAT, property tax, VRT on cars, bin charges, excise duties, road taxes, levies, and many new charges for public services. This is not being used for the benefit of Ireland and the Irish people. It is being used to pay off debt which is explained in the point below
• The Root Causes: We need to educate people, politicians and the government about debt and money creation. This debt is money (or electronic credits) created out of nothing, out of thin air when a bank makes a loan. This accounts for 97% of all money. The other 3% is created by the Central Bank and is also created out of nothing, out of thin air. The interest is not created when the money is created, and it has to be extracted from the existing money supply. This means there is not enough money in circulation to fund the interest as the interest was not created when the money was created (out of thin air). This interest extraction process places enormous stresses on the economic system. Yet this fraudulent money created of nothing is called “debt” and it along with “interest” is used to enslave and crucify nations and peoples. Evictions from homes, business closures, job losses, the activities of vulture funds, vast tax evasion, higher taxes, massive bail outs and national debt, cuts to vital public services, etc. etc. all arise from this fraudulent debt or money creation system. Every euro you possess represents a debt carrying interest. This fraud is illegal, unlawful, unconstitutional and a national disgrace. This fraud and crime must be ended.
• This fraudulent debt created out of nothing could be written off, written down, cancelled as bad debt (from excessive speculation), corrupt debt, or odious debt. Other countries have done this and it has been done for thousands of years. But the Irish government and EU authorities have refused to do this. The main political parties in Ireland have supported this debt fraud.
• The debt based system has created an economy burdened with a combined government, corporate, banking, business, family and private debt which is several multiples of GNP. One of the highest in the world. This stifles economic growth over the long term, and produces bubbles, crashes, recessions, and depressions.
• This debt based system created the financial bubbles and the crashes, and allowed Vulture Funds to acquire over 80 billion euros of distressed over-indebted properties in Ireland, enforced many evictions against families, farms and businesses, made massive profits, and evaded billions of euros in tax. They were not prosecuted for tax evasion.
• Our social welfare bill has exploded to 28 billion euros a year. This is growing due to national and international commitments and the 150,000 asylum seekers and economic migrants arriving in Ireland which is unsustainable. (double what we spend on education)
• Some multinational companies have evaded paying taxes of over 30 billion euros. This also adds to the national debt. Yet, you or ordinary people can be fined or jailed for minor tax evasion.
• The vicious cuts to rural services, grants, transport, garda stations, post offices and banks etc. have been enforced by the government due to the aforementioned debt. Farmers have been locked out of the agri-industry circle and have to accept below cost prices for their produce. Many farms are also burdened by excessive debt. The coops and farmer owned industries have been closed down or taken over by large corporations who are abusing their monopolistic market power to bankrupt farming families. We need new solutions for this crisis in rural Ireland.
• We do not have the resources to take care of our own people yet some smug politicians want to save the developing and third world. Let’s get Ireland in order first, let’s fix Ireland first, let’s save Ireland first.
• No transparency, accountability, integrity and responsibility in politics and in state services. Corruption is widespread and is not being properly investigated and prosecuted in the courts. It is costing the country billions of euros per year in additional costs, higher prices, lost productivity, lost competitiveness, lost business, lost investment, etc. and is ruining the public image and investment potential of Ireland.
• Dublin is one of the most expensive cities in the world. We have a whole generation who will never be able to afford rent or buy a home because of the aforementioned money creation system which facilitates price speculation and excessive debt which prices houses far beyond their real worth. This fraudulent debt system is imposing unnecessary hardships, cutbacks, taxes, extra costs, destruction and ruin on the Irish people and nation. Too many false promises, lies, fobbing offs, and betrayals by politicians.
